How did Indonesia become a muslim country?

2. Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and the Philippines all have muslim populations. The ancient Cham kingdom, formerly in parts of Cambodia and Vietnam, was muslim I believe (google can tell you if I am right or wrong). Philippines and Thailand have problems with muslim rebels, no doubt there are many more muslin non-rebels than rebels. I don't know what the situation is in Laos or Myanmar.

6. 1. Indonesia becomes a muslim dominant country because there are so much immigrant from Arab preaching the Islam throughout the Nusantara. They reached every part! From the Sabang in the east of Indonesia to the Papua! They have enough money to explore and preach Islam as wide as they can.. Indonesian people also tolerated to a new religion. Note that Indonesian people always like to syncrethising new and old religion. It's after the Ottoman Empire seized the Constantinopel. Muslims become more confident, and some Javanese muslim build a kingdom called Demak. And the other Javanese Muslim take over Jakarta from Portuguese in 1492. It's a great achievement by Muslims, and since that, Islam becoming a major leading religion in Indonesia. 3. As i say before, Arabs trader were the preacher of Islam. And also some Gujarati Muslims preach Islam in the north of Sumatra. Arabs trader teaching some Javanese trader ,and soon these Javanese trader become a muslim. These Javanese trader also preaching to their friends and nobleman.. i hope my answer will satisfy you..
