Your translations on A and B are correct. c) That flower doesn't grow properly. half sister = kakak/adik tiri (=half brother) foster sister = kakak/adik angkat (=foster brother) stepson = anak tiri (=stepdaughter) foster daughter = anak angkat (= foster son) In Indonesian, the family terms are not usually differentiated by sex. 'Anak' can means daughter or son. Just like English 'child' can be a boy or a girl. 'Kakak' = older sister/brother 'Adik' = younger sister/brother The final K in 'kakak' is pronounced like a glottal stop, whereas in 'adik' and 'anak' the final K may be pronounced as K (as I do) or as a glottal stop.
