Visa for Indonesia?
Planning on travelling to Denpaseur, Ubud on the island of Bali. Do I need to get a visa before entering Indonesia or can I purchase one when I get to Indonesia customs

- Last time I check you don't need one, but avoid using your Visa credit cards, they get cloned almost the second you start using them..
- HI! You can get a visa in your country but when you arrive in Indonesia, you are issued a tourist visa. Which you can stay for 30 days. :) But after that you must leave or they will get you. But you can get a social visa for 25 bucks which lasts 2 months. You can get a working visa which is 1000 bucks. ANd you can get a long visa where you can stay in jakarta for a long time. However if you do stay in jakarta... when you do leave... you have to day 100 bucks to leave for travel tax. On the social visa, you are free from paying tax except 10 bucks at the airport for some tax. I forgot but it's not 100 bucks. From Harry
- No need visa for most countries. People coming from some countries have visa on arrival facilities. Check http://www.indo.com/tplan/visa.html or google Bali visa.
- Firstly-- Ubud is an awesome place. It's far enough away from the more touristy areas of Bali that you don't get everyone hassling you to buy whatever it is they're selling, and has some bloody amazing rainforests and ancient monuments. With Bali, yes, you do need a Visa, but it's Visa on arrival, so you just buy it at the airport. It'll cost you US$25 for a 30-day Visa, which is just a holiday Visa, so you can't work or study for the duration of your stay. Because there'll be a heap of other people wanting to buy their Visas, it's easiest to pay cash-- EFTPOS facilities are available, but you'll get slammed a bunch of fees just for using it. At the end of your stay, you'll need to pay what the Indonesians like to call a "departure tax". Why it's not included in your airfare I have no idea, but it'll cost you around US$10, and is necessary to be let out of the country. Like the Visa, you just pay for it at the airport before you board your plane home. Hmm... I think that's about it. Hope you have an awesome trip =)
- Visa on arrival, that is what you must attain once you land in Indonesian international airport
